Merry Christmas!!!

We had a great Christmas with our families, and had so much fun watching the kids open gifts this year! They cheered every time they got to open a present. I'm sure next year will be even more fun! I'm working on a blog post with the hundreds of pictures we took over Christmas, so hopefully it won't take me a month to get it done! :-)

It's hard to believe that 2 years ago we spent our first Christmas together as a family in the NICU! I was looking back at pictures, and cannot believe our kids were ever small enough to fit inside their stockings! I did a comparison this year to show just how much they have grown. They truly are miracles!

Our little peanut who had to fight so hard in the beginning is now a fiesty yet sweet 2 year old!
Emme was first to come home from the NICU the day after Christmas, and is the sweetest little girl with an amazing sense of humor!

Max was a stinker even in his NICU days, and hasn't changed much since then. He is our mischevious little boy who definitely leads the pack!

Sweet Brady has a loving smile and personality that melts your heart, but is quite the fireball these days! He is wild and crazy most of the time, and makes us laugh all the time!

We have truly been blessed with amazing kids, a wonderful family, and awesome friends! Happy New Year from the Dotzler's!!!

Overdue Birthday Post!

I seem to be having a terrible time keeping up with the blog lately! Our crazy life seems to be much crazier now that we have 4 two-year olds! Everyday is an adventure to say the least! :-)

We are so blessed to have so many amazing friends and family members who helped us celebrate the kids' 2nd birthday! We lucked out with awesome weather, and a great turn out! It is so hard to believe that 2 years have already passed by with our kiddos!

Dinner at Bass Pro Shops with Trista, Brandon, Taylor, Liam, and Caleb!
We started out the big birthday with special doughnuts for breakfast, and we were even brave enough to light candles (don't worry no one was injured in this stunt)!

Sophie enjoying her doughnut, but not sure why Mommy is taking her picture!
Emme is the sweets lover of the group, so she was all about doughnuts for breakfast!
Max giving his a try!
Brady had to check his out to make sure it looked good enough to eat!

Both last year, and this year I decided it would be a fun tradition to try and make the kids' birthday cakes each year. I must have forgotten how much work is involved, but I was pretty happy with the turn-out!

We decorated the garage (thanks to our amazing friends Trista and Brandon for their help) in a farm theme complete with hay bales, and a cute cardboard barn that Daddy made!

Mommy made a farm birthday banner too! Our foursome enjoying their cake!

Our awesome new helicopter from Nana and Papa!

Fun in the backyard....the bounce house was a gift from Mommy & Daddy!

Daddy with the boys (Max in blue, Brady in green).

Scarlett & Wyatt

Jack, Caleb, & Taylor

Our little friends, the Etter quads!

Jenny & Emmalyn

Opening presents (notice our cute shirts Nana made us that say, "baa baa, moo moo, oink oink, cock-a-doodle-do, we are 2)!

More presents!

Great-Grandma Farmer's Dairy Farm!

In my last post I mentioned that we went out to the farm after trick-or-treating at the nursing home. The kids had so much fun at the farm! We really wish we lived closer, so they could visit more often! It is so fun for Daddy and Nana to see the kids explore the farm where Nana grew up! Sophie wasn't sure about the baby calf!

Brady and Emme weren't the least bit afraid!
Daddy and Max checkin' out the calf!

Max was ok until it sucked on his hand! :-)
Emme LOVED them!

Driving the tractor is Max's favorite thing about farmin'!
Brady had to drive too!

Hold on Brady!

Hangin' out on the hay bales!
Daddy showing the girls the baby kittens!

I think Emme is going to be a veterinarian when she grows up because she LOVES all animals! Such a sweet picture!

Halloween 2011....Better Late than Never!!! :-)

I just realized that it has been one month since Halloween, and I have yet to post anything on our blog! Our life seems to be getting much more chaotic now that we have busy 2 year olds! Better late than never...... :-)

The whole weekend of Halloween was a little crazy, but very fun-filled this year! On Saturday, we loaded the kids up, and headed to Lansing to see Great-Grandma "Farmer" in the nursing home! We took the kids' Halloween costumes, and did a little trick-or-treating while we were there! The kids had a blast, and I think Great-Grandma "Farmer" was pretty surprised to see them!

After the nursing home, we headed out to the farm for some more fun (pictures will be in next post)!

Monday (the 31st) we took the kids trick-or-treating in Clear Lake for the first time! We only went to a few houses in Great-Grandma Mick and Great-Grandpa Lee's neighborhood, but the kids had so much fun! I think the adults were just as exhausted as the kids when it was all over with!

Everyone worked up an appetite after all that hard work!

They made out very well for their first year of trick-or-treating! :-)
